Biscuits and gravy
2 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk
Biscuits:
Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Cut in the shortening until like course crumbs (use a pastry cutter or fork). Make a well; add milk all at once. Stir quickly with fork just until the dough follows fork around the bowl. Turn onto lightly floured surface (the dough should be soft). Knead gently 10-12 strokes. Roll or pat dough 1/2 inch thick. Dip cutter in flour; cut dough straight down, no twisting. Bake according to the recipe directions.
Gravy (medium white sauce):
*You will need to double the batch.
1/2 pound sausage
1 c. milk (scolded)
2 Tbsp. flour
pepper
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
Combine butter and flour. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. Cook until thick and smooth. Add salt and a few grains of pepper. Then add cooked sausage.

Stuffed shells
Not the best picture, I had to check the middle to see it was cooked all the way through (since it has eggs in it).
18 jumbo pasta shells
3/4 lb ground beef or italian sausage
1 clove garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
1 cup part skim ricotta cheese
1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
3 eggs
1 Tbsp parsley flakes
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 can (26 oz) spaghetti sauce
Cook pasta according to package directions, just until tender; drain. Brown beef or sausage, onion and garlic in skillet; drain. Mix rest of ingredients together, except spaghetti sauce. Stuff shells, set aside. Pour half of sauce into slow cooker. Arrange stuffed shells in sauce. Top with other half of sauce. Cover and cook on low 5-6 hours.
This recipe is from 365 days of crockpot blog site, by Karen Peterson a neighbor down the road.
I usually don't get it into the crockpot in time to have it done by dinner so I adjusted the recipe for it to cook in a 9 by 13 pan and bake it in the oven at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. I can usually fit up to 30 shells in one 9 by 13.
