Vanilla-Butter and Nut Pound Cake

Note: start in cold oven.

3 cups sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
1 cup margarine
3 cups flour
2 Tbsp Vanilla-Butter & Nut flavoring (this is kind-of hard for me to find).
5 large eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 small can of evaporated milk
(add water to make 1 cup)
Whip cream
Strawberries

Cream butter and shortening, sugar and salt. Add eggs one at a time. Add flour and milk alternating ending with flour. Fold in the flavoring by hand. Bake in greased tube pan for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325 degrees. Do not open door while cooking. Remove from pan immediately.
This dish brings good childhood memories back to me! It smelled so good and tasted even better, it's good cold. This recipe is from my Mom, Sandi. It's really good with whip cream and strawberries.
