Bread Pudding

6 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups sugar
4 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 loaf french bread, torn into small pieces (or cut)
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1/2 cup pecans (optional)
1 Tbsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a medium bowl mix together eggs and sugar. Add milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Mix until smooth. Arrange bread cubes in a 9 by 13 pan. Top with nuts and raisins if desired. Cover with milk mixture. Allow the bread to become saturated. bake 45 minutes until lightly browned or is set. Top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
