White or Chocolate Frosting / Butter Frosting

6 Tbsp. butter
1 lb. package powder sugar, sifted (about 4 1/2 cups)
light cream (about 1/4 cup)
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter; gradually add about half the sugar, blending well. Beat in 2 Tbsp cream and vanilla. Gradually blend in remaining sugar. Add enough cream to make of spreading consistency. Frosts 2, 8 inch or 9 inch layers.
*Note: for a more creamy frosting beat in 1 egg instead of first 2 Tbsp. cream. After adding remaining sugar, beat in cream for spreading consistency.
For Chocolate frosting:
prepare 1 batch of butter frosting.
add 6 Tbsp. cocoa (I think its Tbsp.)
2 Tbsp. butter (= 1/2 cup of butter)
